Permanent exhibitions
The Hungarian National Gallery is the largest public collection documenting and presenting the rise and development of the fine arts in Hungary.
Highlights from the Collection of International Art after 1800 from the Museum of Fine Arts is on permanent display in the Hungarian National Gallery from 7 December 2018.
Tickets are valid for one entry on the day of indication. Tickets for the temporary exhibition include a free visit to the permanent exhibition.
Suggested time for a visit of the permanent collection: 1,5-3 hours.

Tickets to the date of visit
Tickets can be purchased in advance at the museum ticket desk as well as online through Jegymester webshop, and at the Eventim network outlets throughout the country and abroad. (Partners may add extra fees.)
For visitors entitled to free admission, tickets are not available in advance. Free tickets can only be obtained at the time of admission by presenting valid ID for the discount at the museum ticket desk.

Tickets are valid for one day. For most temporary exhibitions the opening hours are divided into one-hour slots. Visitors must select the date of their visit and a time-slot. Visitors are entitled to enter the exhibition at any time within the selected time slot. Advance purchase tickets ensure direct admission to the museum, although queues at the entrance to an exhibition might occur for security reasons.
Admission is allowed one hour before closing the latest, or even earlier in case of temporary exhibition.
Discount tickets are only valid with the appropriate certificate for the discount. In the absence of such documentation you will need to purchase a supplementary ticket.
Gift Ticket
Gift tickets (i.e. without date of visit) are also available at the Ticket Desks as well as online that can be used for one visit.

Types of Gift Tickets:
– Gift Ticket to the Permanent exhibitions – valid until the end of the year;
– Gift Ticket to the running temporary exhibition, available until 2 weeks before the exhibition closing date;
– Yearly Gift Ticket 2019 – valid until the end of the year for one visit to any exhibitions (visiting temporary exhibition include a free visit to the permanent exhibitions as well on the selected date).
Please note that Gift Tickets can not be used for direct admission, they need to be validated by booking the date and time of visit. Booking can be requested at the Information Desk upon arrival, or can be done in advance at the site of jegymeser.hu webshop following registration.
