Group visits

Group visits are possible both in the permanent and the temporary exhibitions at the Hungarian National Gallery. Guided tours can be requested for groups but they are welcome to explore our shows at their own pace too.

GUIDED TOURS FOR GROUPS

If you wish to discover our permanent and temporary exhibitions with professional guides, please make a booking. You can book a time at least two weeks before your planned visit. Registration is possible by writing to muzeumpedagogia@mng.hu to the Museum Education Department.

GUIDED TOURS FOR KINDERGARTEN AND SCHOOL GROUPS

If you wish to bring your kindergarten group or your class to one of our inspiring events designed for different age groups, choose from our selection of MUSEUM EDUCATION workshops.

GROUP VISITS WITHOUT A GUIDED TOUR

Please let us know in advance if you wish to visit our museum in a group of more than 10, and we will send you a written confirmation.
Groups can be registered with the following deadlines:
– for visits on weekdays: until 4 p.m. the latest on the day before the planned visit,
– for visits on weekends: until 12 a.m. on Friday

Registration is possible by writing to muzeumpedagogia@mng.hu to the Museum Education Department.

Registrations are only valid with the confirmation you will receive from us by e-mail. The confirmation contains all the registered data of the group and the visit, as well as the admission fee. We only take responsibility for fees posted on our official homepage and the data included in our confirmation e-mail; we do not accept any references to verbal communication.

Tours in our exhibitions are exclusively held by the museum’s professional guides. Teachers bringing school groups to the museum are only allowed to have a class in the collections of the permanent exhibition with the prior permission of our Museum Education Department. No classes can be held in the temporary exhibitions.

BUYING TICKETS IN THE MUSEUM

The price of the entrance tickets and services can be paid in the ticket offices in the museum in cash or with major bank cards. If you wish to buy or already have a reduced ticket, please show proof of your entitlement at the ticket office at the time of purchase, or, in the case of tickets purchased in advance, upon entry.

Invoices are issued on purchases only by the partners carrying out the transactions and exclusively at the time of purchase. (For details about invoices of online purchases, please visit jegymester.hu.)

CANCELLATION

If you wish to make a cancellation, please do so by e-mail at the muzeumpedagogia@mng.hu address by 4 p.m. at the latest on the day before your planned visit for weekdays, and until 12 a.m. at the latest in the case of visits planned for weekends. If you purchased an advance ticket at the Jegymester web shop, you have the opportunity to change it for a later time until one day before the ticket’s expiration, but please notify us about your cancellation and the time of your new visit.

RULES FOR GROUP VISITS

The visitor rules and regulations are applicable to groups during the entire duration of their visit. The text can be viewed in the museum lobby, for example. Please make sure that every member of your group is familiar with these rules. It is the responsibility of the group leaders, organisers and accompanying persons (in special cases, when special permission is granted, the external tour guide) to ensure that the visitor rules are known and observed.
